The Mayaro Beach Clean-Up was a small initiative aimed at getting rid of garbage and debris that pollute our beaches and landscape.
Without action now- climate change will get worse and intensify the destruction of this earth.
“We love our Beaches” Initiative
As citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, we love our beaches. They are a great form of recreation and many of us spend quality time with our family and loved ones relaxing on our nation’s beaches.
Climate change influences severe weather by causing longer droughts and higher temperatures in some regions and more intense deluges in others, say climate experts. Among the most vulnerable are communities in exposed mountain and coastal regions. (Via National Geographic)
Global warming is the long-term rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system. It is a major aspect of climate change and has been demonstrated by direct temperature measurements and by measurements of various effects of the warming. Global warming and climate change are often used interchangeably. (Via WikiCommons)
Air pollution consists of chemicals or particles in the air that can harm the health of humans, animals, and plants. It also damages buildings. Pollutants in the air take many forms. They can be gases, solid particles, or liquid droplets.

Humans have caused major climate changes to happen already, and we have set in motion more changes still. Even if we stopped emitting greenhouse gases today, global warming would continue to happen for at least several more decades, if not centuries. (Via N.A.S.A)
Presidential Insurance First Beach Cleanup At Frontin Road Mayaro, Trinidad
Climate change is not just a long term issue; it is happening today and it affects us all!
A common sight at Frontin Road Mayaro beach, as piles of rubbish were scattered across the shoreline.
The management and staff of PICL who volunteered were pleased to partner with Second Crossing Hardware and Earth Works Solution Limited, both of which donated garbage bags and gloves to assist in the cleanup drive.
