As citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, we love our beaches. They are a great form of recreation and many of us spend quality time with our family and loved ones relaxing on our nation’s beaches.

Presidential Facts

Climate change influences severe weather by causing longer droughts and higher temperatures in some regions and more intense deluges in others, say climate experts. Among the most vulnerable are communities in exposed mountain and coastal regions. (Via National Geographic)

Global warming is the long-term rise in the average temperature of the Earth's climate system. It is a major aspect of climate change and has been demonstrated by direct temperature measurements and by measurements of various effects of the warming. Global warming and climate change are often used interchangeably. (Via WikiCommons)

Air pollution consists of chemicals or particles in the air that can harm the health of humans, animals, and plants. It also damages buildings. Pollutants in the air take many forms. They can be gases, solid particles, or liquid droplets.

Humans have caused major climate changes to happen already, and we have set in motion more changes still. Even if we stopped emitting greenhouse gases today, global warming would continue to happen for at least several more decades, if not centuries. (Via N.A.S.A)

Presidential Insurance First Beach Cleanup At Frontin Road Mayaro, Trinidad

Climate change is not just a long term issue; it is happening today and it affects us all!

Plastic bottles, soda cans, fishing nets & rubber slippers to name a few. It was a sight for sore eyes and we look forward to anotherbeac cleanup in the near future!

A common sight at Frontin Road Mayaro beach, as piles of rubbish were scattered across the shoreline.

The management and staff of PICL who volunteered were pleased to partner with Second Crossing Hardware and Earth Works Solution Limited, both of which donated garbage bags and gloves to assist in the cleanup drive.

Presidential Insurance is committed to addressing the burning issues facing our environment. The company identifies the need to give back. Partnering with other corporate entities was an excellent opportunity to engage in team-building activity that enhanced the combined effort in tackling the problem of pollution on our nation’s beaches.

We support and encourage citizens to get started, whether it is at their homes, communities, schools or workplace. We all need to play our part in saving our country our planet our home.
